Creating Confidence: 4-Week Art Series for Kids

This special creative arts program uses art exercises to help children and youth build confidence, self-esteem, and an authentic identity. During this 4-week program, participants will explore their personal identity through art projects that build confidence. They will identify their positive traits, craft a personal identity, explore their place in relationships, and vision for their future.

Each 90-minute class will include:

• Mindful Exercises to Relax & Develop Inner Awareness
• Interactive Art Project for Personal Growth
• Personal Reflection
• Small Group Discussions

Research suggests that when children are creative, they are able to manage their emotions, feel confident in who they are, and navigate difficult situations. By playing with different art materials, they can learn new strategies to self-regulate and release stress, tension, and anxiety in their body. All exercises in this series will be selected with the intention of personal growth and development.

Who Should Attend?

• Children between the ages of 8-13
• Children who find comfort doing arts or crafts
• Children who have big emotions or fears
• Children experiencing personal challenges or transitions
• Children who could benefit from an expressive outlet

Classes are conducted in a small group size of no more than 8-10 participants.

Facilitator: Jennifer Kavanagh

Jennifer is the creator of The Soul Institute, a mom of two beautiful girls, and a lifelong student of the healing arts. She is trained in yoga, meditation, transpersonal counselling, and the Guided Drawing Sensorimotor technique for managing emotions and trauma in the body. She also has a Masters of Education and PhD studies in Education.

$110 for 4 Week Series

$30 for drop-in classes.
